What is a Minecraft Modded server?
Modded servers run a modpack, which means you install the same pack before you connect. In exchange you get machines, magic systems and progression that the base game does not have. 80 Modded servers are listed here, each one status-pinged from our own infrastructure so you can see which are populated before you join.
You need the same pack, and usually the same launcher
A modded server only accepts clients running the identical pack and version. Most publish a CurseForge, Modrinth or FTB pack name on their listing, and the launcher installs it in a few clicks. Joining with the wrong version disconnects you immediately with a mismatch message, which is the most common problem new players hit.
Kitchen sink, expert and questing packs
A kitchen sink pack throws in everything and lets you pick a direction. An expert pack rewrites recipes so the mods gate each other and there is one long intended path. A questing pack adds a book that tells you what to do next. They demand very different amounts of time, and the pack name is enough to tell which one you are looking at.
How do I join a server from this list?
