Towns, nations and the daily upkeep
A town charges a daily upkeep from its bank, and a town that cannot pay falls. That single rule is what makes towny political: mayors need residents, residents need a reason to stay, and nations exist so several towns can share defence and a market. Running out of money is the most common way a town dies, not a raid.
Plots, permissions and who can build where
Inside a town the mayor sets plots to shop, embassy, farm or residential, and each plot type carries its own permissions. That is what lets a towny server support real player markets: a shop plot rented to somebody else is protected from them and from everybody walking through it.
How do I join a server from this list?
Every row carries the address players connect to. Copy it with the button on the row, open Minecraft, choose Multiplayer, then Add Server and paste it into the address field. Bedrock players add the same address under Servers, and if the listing shows a Bedrock port it is written next to the address. Nothing here needs a launcher, a mod or an account on this site.
