Top 5 Minecraft Pokemon Servers in 2026: Cobblemon and Pixelmon

The five Minecraft Pokemon servers we would start with are TalonMC, Complex Gaming, SmashMC, Blaze Gaming and PokeFind. Between them they cover Cobblemon, Pixelmon and a server you can join with no mods at all, so this list is as much about which Pokemon style suits you as about which server.

The short answer

The best Minecraft Pokemon server in 2026 is TalonMC at play.talonmc.net for Cobblemon, followed by Complex Gaming, SmashMC and Blaze Gaming for players who want Pixelmon as well, and PokeFind if you want Pokemon without installing anything. The first four need a modpack; PokeFind joins from a plain Java client.

If you only want Cobblemon, our Cobblemon server guide goes much deeper on that one mod. This list is for people still choosing between the different ways of playing Pokemon in Minecraft.

How we picked these Pokemon servers

We joined each server with the modpack its listing links, checked that the Pokemon mode it advertises is the one you land in, and read what each says about its battle and catching content. We wanted coverage of both mods rather than five near identical Cobblemon servers.

The order is editorial. TalonMC is first because it has the most to do once your team is built, and it is free to join with a free rank on join. The rest are ordered by how well each serves a particular kind of Pokemon player.

#1 TalonMC: the deepest Cobblemon server to settle on

IP: play.talonmc.net

TalonMC runs Cobblemon as one of five modes, and it has the long term content that most Cobblemon servers lack: NPC gym trainers with harder difficulty tiers, legendary monuments out in the world, Pokemon dungeons that end in a guaranteed catch, hunts and legendary quests, a rotating resource world, and a second overworld with its own Nether. It is free to join, you get a free rank on join, and its rewards are earnable in game.

Install the TalonMC modpack on Modrinth, which sets the Minecraft and Cobblemon versions for you, then add the IP. The TalonMC listing has a copy button.

Best for: Cobblemon players who want goals for months, not a weekend.

#2 Complex Gaming: Cobblemon and Pixelmon side by side

IP: play.mc-complex.com

Complex Gaming runs a Cobblemon server and a Pixelmon Reforged server, each with its own CurseForge modpack, and a separate Discord for its Pixelmon community. It is the easiest way to try both mods under one account, and the network also has vanilla modes for when you want a break.

Best for: players deciding between the two mods.

#3 SmashMC: battle content on both mods

IP: play.smashmc.co

SmashMC is TheSirud's Pixelmon and Cobblemon server, and its feature list leans hard into battling: a Warzone for fighting other trainers, NPC gyms, a player-run Elite Four, an Emerald styled Battle Tower, daily and weekly tournaments and drafted Ultimate Teams. It also runs a seasonal battle pass that resets every two months, PokeHunts, Bingo, a GTS and WonderTrade.

Best for: competitive battlers and fans of the channel.

#4 Blaze Gaming: a long running Pixelmon server

IP: play.mc-blaze.com

Blaze Gaming says it has run for over eight years. Its Pixelmon Storm server runs Pixelmon Reforged on Minecraft 1.21 and is described as its longest running mode, and it has added a Cobblemon server called Cobblemon Infinity. Each has its own modpack link on the listing.

Best for: Pixelmon players who want an established community.

#5 PokeFind: Pokemon with no mods to install

IP: play.pokefind.co

PokeFind takes a different route. It combines Pokemon games with some Pokemon Go mechanics and describes itself as completely vanilla, so you type the address into a normal client and play. It lists a Pokemon world, Pokemon survival, competitive battling and a custom storyline.

Because it does not use Cobblemon or Pixelmon, it looks and plays differently from the four above. That is the point: it is the quickest way to try Pokemon in Minecraft before you bother with a launcher.

Best for: trying Pokemon in Minecraft with zero setup.

Cobblemon or Pixelmon: how to choose

Pixelmon is the original Pokemon mod for Minecraft and still has a large, settled community. Cobblemon is the newer open source mod, its models match the blocky Minecraft style, and most new Pokemon servers now launch on it. Neither is wrong. If your friends already play one, play that one.

Both are Java mods, so both need a modpack and a PC. Bedrock players on phone or console cannot load either, even on a network that accepts Bedrock elsewhere. PokeFind's listing does not mention Bedrock either, so if you are on a phone or console, start from the Bedrock server list.

Give a modpack at least 4 GB of RAM in your launcher. Always install the server's own pack rather than building one by hand, because a single version mismatch is enough to stop you joining. The Pixelmon server list and the Pokemon server list carry every other option.

What to check before you pick a Pokemon server

Read the store. Check what it sells, whether that is cosmetics, ranks or boosts, and whether any of it decides who gets the rarest Pokemon or wins battles. Then look at what happens after your first full team: gyms, battle towers, tournaments and hunts are what keep a Pokemon server alive past the first week.

Install the TalonMC modpack and copy play.talonmc.net from the TalonMC listing, or browse the Minecraft Pokemon server list.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Minecraft Pokemon server?

Our first pick is TalonMC at play.talonmc.net for Cobblemon, with gyms, legendary monuments, dungeons, hunts and quests. Complex Gaming is the best choice if you want Cobblemon and Pixelmon on one network.

Is there a Pixelmon server that also has Cobblemon?

Yes. Complex Gaming, SmashMC and Blaze Gaming all run both mods, each with its own modpack. You install the pack for the mode you want and join the same address.

Can I play Pokemon in Minecraft without mods?

Yes, on plugin based servers such as PokeFind at play.pokefind.co, which joins from a normal client. It plays differently from Cobblemon and Pixelmon, which both need a modpack.

What is the TalonMC Pokemon server IP?

The IP is play.talonmc.net. Install the TalonMC Cobblemon modpack from Modrinth first, launch it, then add the address under Multiplayer.

Can I play Cobblemon or Pixelmon on Bedrock?

No. Both are Java Edition mods and Bedrock clients cannot load them, even through Geyser. Bedrock players should ask a plugin based Pokemon server whether it accepts Bedrock, or pick a different gamemode.
