Minecraft server RAM calculator

Tell it what you are running and it gives you a heap size and the start command to use. The numbers come from how Minecraft servers actually behave, not from a hosting price list.

The server default is 10. Six or seven is plenty on a busy server.

Recommendation

Allocate 3.5 GB to the server, on a machine with at least 6 GB of RAM so the operating system has room.

Xms and Xmx are set to the same value on purpose. A heap that grows on demand causes periodic stutter.
