# Minecraft Best Servers

> Find the best Java and Bedrock Minecraft servers, ranked by player votes and checked with our own live status ping.

We track 888 Minecraft servers. Every listing is status-pinged from our own infrastructure every five minutes, so player counts are measured rather than supplied by the server owner. The list is led by a small number of editor's picks, and everything below that is ordered by the votes players cast during the current calendar month. Vote totals reset on the first of each month.

## How the ranking works
- A small number of editor's picks lead the list. Everything below them is ordered by votes cast this month.
- Featured placements carry a gold star, sit in their own block above the ranked list, and also appear in the numbered list at whatever position their votes earn.
- Player counts come from our own status ping. If a server has not answered within 30 minutes we show the last successful reading and label it as such, rather than presenting a stale number as live.
- We publish no aggregate star rating for servers we have not reviewed.
